It has been a week with the freezer going on my fridge. the purchase of a new fridge and then today with Joe Stelnicki disconnecting my old fridge and Kona and I awaiting the delivery of the new fridge. Such things just seem to put your life in turmoil and leave you in limbo. I miss Tom always as I make these decisions on my own. I pray a lot and also rely on Tom’s support from the other side.
It has been a difficult and busy month for our ward with the sudden passing of the McGregor’s young adult son. His older brother was missing at the time and once he was finally located, we held Ethan’s funeral on Wednesday, October 14 and the funeral for Joann Novak’s daughter the following Sunday. In addition that week, I flew to Kelowna to be with the Bull and Burgess families. I flew out Wednesday evening and back Friday evening. Wyatt and Colton were on fall break and decided to make Kelowna and cousins their destination. Brendon did my teeth, we went out to dinner twice, to the air park for the boys and spent time at Aunt Liza’s clinic, which was a hit. Our big Relief Society Event was on Saturday, October 17, the day after my return. We had the current and past Temple Matrons. We answered questions during the lovely fall lunch and then sat in panel after lunch to answer more questions. We had to have the event at the YSA building as our building had work being done on it. Sharon had the new setting decorated beautifully as she usually does. All in all I hardly stopped all week.
We had Myrna Olson in hospital following a fall, resulting in a back injury. Marie Cruikshank and Helen Michelsen have still been recuperating from their health concerns and Melanie has gone to England to visit her mother for two weeks. We are preparing for our Society Service Event which will be held the end of November.
I have been to the doctor about my shoulder and hip pain and X-rays show arthritis in both areas and in my spine and indication of a rotator cuff injury having occurred in my shoulder at some time. I received my covid and flu vaccinations one week and a cortisone injection the following week in my shoulder.
I have been cleaning and prepping my yard for fall and winter and we celebrated Halloween the end of October with close to two hundred children visiting our doorstep and fireworks going on out in the field behind us. Not a happy evening for my poor dog. I found her up in the bedroom closet at one point.
Trevor had shoulder surgery this month to try to stabilize his poor worn out shoulder. I guess we are always wearing out.
USA midterm elections swayed to the Democrats.
Life is ever challenging and ever changing.
