The summer has been winding down and children returning to school and people to their regular activities and work. Breya, Bryson, Treyvn, Jack and Cheyenne have all made their way to their respective universities. Keaton is starting UBCO. Max and his family took the long journey back to Australia August 21. The weather has cooled and, though rain is often forecasted, none seems to come, so I am still watering the gardens. My dear ginkgo tree in the front yard has some issues and starts losing leaves in the middle of the summer and then continues thru the fall. That concern requires regular, even daily, clean ups.
Life is busy and ever changing. The Temple has been busy and especially busy right before closure with live ordinances. As I am still the female LOW coordinator, that means I am busy, which I love. My cousin, Susan Turnbull, lost her husband suddenly which will be a big adjustment for her. I have started seeing an osteopath for my neck and shoulder concerns, Keaton has been down twice to play rugby for the UBCO rugby team and Liza’s family were down for the Temple last weekend. We have had sisters in the ward dealing with challenges that, as a Relief Society presidency, we have been working to handle and we are preparing for our October Temple event for the Relief Society as well. We have made the change to weekly 25 minute Relief Society/Priesthood lessons and Sunday School lessons. This format puts the responsibility on us to study and be prepared to participate each week while the teacher acts as a facilitator. My friend Barb has come to a conclusion of having the church help her pay for her housing and this is requiring life changes and possibly a move. She is struggling and she suggested moving in with me. I feel she needs to prove to herself that she can work this out. My hair is now my natural color, which is streaked with grey. I like it and I have had some positive comments, I deal with my callings, business affairs and my family everyday. I am grateful for all of these responsibilities and recognize that I am greatly blessed to have them in my life.
